Writing for Real:
Writing for Professional, Social, and Exploratory Purposes
Dear Colleagues,
The Eastern Michigan Writing Project will sponsor a special fall conference devoted to Writing-Across-the-Curriculum (K-college) on October 17, 2009. The conference will be on the third floor of the Student Center at Eastern Michigan University (900 Oakwood St) from 8:30 to 3:00. We encourage you to submit a proposal for a sixty-minute interactive session. Preference will be given to proposals that address one or more of the following questions.
v How can we engage students to write in their future roles as professionals?
v How do we frame writing projects that address community goals and problems?
v How do we use writing to reinforce ways of observing, analyzing and discovering?
v How can we extend these methods across grade levels to instill continuity in the writing curriculum?
